Oak Ridge
The Oak Ridge area is surrounded by county land to the north and south. There are a lot of wetlands that hold vast reserves of wildlife and some very dense timber. The Poplar and Birch stands provide nesting and natural food plots for a host of game birds as well as the Porcupines and Possum population. Beaver, Muskrat, Deer an occasional Black Bear and maybe a few timber wolves all find a home in this fantastic natural community.Oak Ridge Road runs east and west between state highways 12 and 27. The fire lookout tower is still in use and located in the eastern county land area. Still used during fire season this is a great resource for all of Manchester as well as the surrounding areas.
